Tomasz Dobrzanski graduated in clarinet form the Academy of Music in Wrocław under professor Mieczysław Stachura.

He studied recorder under Gabriel Garrido at the Early Music Centre at the Conservatoire Populaire in Geneva and under Michel Piguet at Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel, where he also studied period clarinet under Pierre-André Taillard. He developed his skills at numerous interpretation courses in Poland and abroad. As a member of many early music ensembles, he also plays Renaissance reed instruments and the mandora. He gives solo concerts and arranges dance and theatre music performances. He is the leader of the Wrocław ensemble Ars Cantus, which plays early Silesian music. Together with the ensemble he made a number of recordings which shed new light on the 15th-century music of East-Central Europe. He teaches recorder at the Academy of Music in Wrocław and the State Secondary Music School in Wrocław. He promotes early music by giving classes and lectures at interpretation courses. His work also involves copying and reconstruction of early music instruments.
